Independent and fearless

Carson has decided he needs to go up and down the stairs by himself. He rests in the comfort of you being close, but he's not afraid to take off without you.

Even better, he has become somewhat fearless. He figured out that he could climb on the back of the couch, then onto the outside of the stairs and hold the railing. Lovely. That next morning, he was playing downstairs while I ate breakfast and checked on him every minute or so. Next thing I knew, he had climbed all the way up the outside of the stairs and was sitting on the ledge from the kitchen. I flew down the stairs while trying not to have a heart attack. He just looked at me and grinned, since he was so proud of himself. Little stinker!!

  1. Wow, my neighbors kids do that too. I am glad that my girls do not really do that, but we don't have much room on the outside of the stairs with them being wood. Good luck trying to keep him down from there!

  2. Oh, Lord!! How can they do something so dangerous so quickly?? He wasn't afraid. Takes right after you, Baby Girl. You were the most fearless child. You cried when you weren't big enough for roller coasters, etc. I was saying a silent Thank You to God, because I sure didn't want to ride them with you.
